Shooting murder:
A 27-year-old man is dead after a mid-day shooting on Eglinton Ave. East at Markham Road on Oct. 14. Police were called to the scene after reports of gunshots were heard at around 12:15 p.m. Andre Moore of Toronto was pronounced dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to the head. Police are seeking the occupants of an older blue Honda Accord that was seen leaving the area after the shooting. Contact police at 416-808-7410.

Cops for Cancer:
David Russell, an officer at 43 Division, will be having his head shaved for the 12th annual Cops for Cancer event. A donation box and pledge forms are available at the front desk of 43 Division at 4331 Lawrence Ave. E. for anyone who would like to contribute. All proceeds go to the Canadian Cancer Society. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 30 at the Eaton Centre.

Barn fire:
A two-alarm fire engulfed a barn near the Toronto Zoo last weekend. Toronto Fire was called to the blaze just after 2 a.m. on Oct. 18 and it took over an hour for fire fighters to put it out. The area, on Beare Road, is known as a party spot for local teens, Staff Sgt. Dolamore of 42 Division said. It’s not known what caused the fire but Dolamore suspects it might have been deliberately set.

Gun threat in dispute:
Two men have been charged after threatening another group of men with a gun following a dispute on Oct. 13. The argument began near Sheppard Avenue East and Morningside Avenue when suspects in a van allegedly opened a side door and pointed a weapon at the occupants of a car with whom they had argues earlier. Two men, 18 and 28, were charged with pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm and possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition.
