Man not guilty of attempted murder

A 23-year-old man was found not guilty of attempted murder in the October 2005 shooting of  a TTC bus driver.

However, Malcolm Chalmers was found guilty of the lesser charge of aggravated assault in the random attack that left driver Jamie Pereira blind in one eye.

Chalmers will be sentenced on Jan, 8. He faces a maximum of 14 years in the case.

Chalmers will also be standing trial in Durham region on separate charges in the new year.
