Arrest made in office break-ins

Police have arrested a suspect in a series of on-going office break-ins.

“He’s a career criminal with a long record,” said Const. Bill Campbell, crime prevention officer for 43 Division.

Over the last several weeks, the suspect, 39, entered several churches and medical and insurance offices by breaking through the drywall.

“Various types of offices were broken into. He didn’t target any specific buildings or companies,” Campbell said.

The suspect has been charged with over 20 offences including failure to appear in court and breaking and entering.

Police also said that at the time of arrest, the suspect was wanted for another ten charges of breaking and entering in the 52 Division.

A female suspect has also been charged in connection with one of the break-ins.

Police cannot release any more details at this time.
