Framing Toronto in a phrase

“How do you sum a city up in a phrase?”

That’s the question the Torontoist is asking its readers.

Over the years, The Big Smoke has been known by many nicknames and promoted with many slogans. Now the Toronto-focused blog is giving residents a chance to brand the country’s biggest city.

Until 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 10, Torontonians can submit up to three slogans of their own creation by email to [email protected].

A panel of as-yet unannounced Toronto experts will pick the 10 best slogans.

Ten mock tourism posters, designed by the Torontoist’s Marc Lostracco and featuring photography by Torontoist photographers, will then be created based on those slogans.

Voting will open to the public to chose the winner at the end of August.
