Centennial Sports TV Show 2: East York at a glance

This week on Centennial Sports TV:

Scotiabank Marathon

The Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon took place on September 26th, but the real contest was held in the local neighbourhoods.

This week on the show, catch reporters Ashley Morris and Katelyn Peer as they track Greektown in the Marathon’s neighbourhood challenge: a charity competition to determine who can cheer the loudest as the marathon participants run by.

Did Greektown claim victory? Or did they run out of breath?

“Whipper” Billy Watson

Igor Henriquez will feature the life of East York native “Whipper” Billy Watson.

The wrestler put Ontario on the map by winning two heavyweight wrestling championships. He died at the age of 74 but remains a well known wrestler to this day.

Igor spoke to the hosts of the Score’s “Right After Wrestling” to get their perspective on wrestling and how it has changed over time.

East York Collegiate reunion football game

The East York Goliaths of the 1954/55 team return to their former high school for the old-timers game. Alexis Brudnicki and Andrew Garas will be at the football match to capture the timeless event.
