Suspect in Knob Hill Park sex assault surrenders

A man wanted in connection with the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl has turned himself in to police.

Devon Steven Simpson, 32, gave himself up after police released his name and photo.

On Nov. 2 at about 3:30 p.m., a man who appeared to be in his late teens approached the young girl in Knob Hill Park near Brimley Road and Graylee Avenue, police say.

The man engaged the girl in conversation and the two walked to a secluded area of the park where he allegedly sexually assaulted her, police say.

Simpson faces several sexual assault-related charges.
