Two more men caught trying to jump off the Bluffs

Only two weeks after a man tried unsuccessfully to base-jump off the Scarborough Bluffs, two more men have been caught attempting the same.

On Nov. 29 police apprehended the men, who planned to leap from the top of the Bluffs with the aid of a parachute.

“The men were identified and cautioned of the dangers of their actions,” Const. Wendy Drumond said.

She said the men were potentially in breach of a bylaw, but they were not fined.

A previous jumper had got caught by a branch on the cliffs and left hanging 200 feet up on Nov. 13.

It took emergency workers more than an hour to rescue the man, who was not seriously injured.
