The director of transportation for the City of Toronto says residents on side streets could be the worst hit in the city’s next big storm. Weather forecasters are warning that southern Ontario will experience a severe snowstorm beginning Tuesday night and continuing into Wednesday afternoon.
Controversy continues to swirl around the Bridlewood Mall area while construction dust is still settling at Bridlewood Library. Work on the library, which wrapped up on Jan. 21, is part of a controversial renovation and redevelopment plan that includes building a proposed 975 condo units.

Police "have no idea" what killed a Scarborough man and sent three emergency responders to hospital Sunday. But according to reports, the cause may have been exposure to chemical fumes inside a home on Wishing Well Drive near Pharmacy Road and Sheppard Avenue East.
Ginny Bates was born in Bucharest, Romania, and adopted at the age of two. She knew as a child that she was adopted and about her birth parents. “I had the option of writing to them if I wanted to,” Bates said. “I felt like I had to.”

Scarborough’s four day Don Montgomery Memorial Hockey Tournament, which wound up Jan. 16, was a successful one for the Scarborough Bandits and West Hill Golden Hawks organizations. Three teams from the area won in their age groups and two more reached the finals.
