Autumn storm causes Scarborough flood

An early Friday morning thunderstorm left some parts of Scarborough flooded between 3:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.

The storm disrupted traffic on Midland Avenue and left parts of the city without power.

On Janray Drive, near Scarborough Golf Club Road and Lawrence Avenue East, a man’s car was submerged and had to be towed away once the water receded.

Water from a flooded creek also covered a part of Midland Avenue.

Police closed Guildwood Parkway between Shubert Drive and Poplar Road until 6:30 a.m.

Roadways reopened for early morning traffic.
