East York: two parts orange, one part red

When it comes to provincial politics, East Yorkers seem happy with the status quo.

While some polls have yet to report, all three incumbents in East York have been declared re-elected.

In Don Valley West, MPP Kathleen Wynne of the Liberals has won with 19,980 votes so far, or 58.1 per cent of the total. Conservative candidate Andrea Mandel-Campbell is well back, with 10,348 votes, equaling 30.1 per cent. The win for Wynne comes with 200 of 214 polls reporting.

In Beaches-East York, NDP incumbent Michael Prue leads the polls with 12,048 votes, or 46.9 per cent. In second is Helen Burstyn of the Liberals with 8,267 votes, equaling 35.4 per cent of the total. These vote totals are based on 133 of 190 polls reporting.

The Toronto-Danforth totals are coming in more slowly, but local broadcast media still project that NDP incumbent Peter Tabuns will be re-elected. Tabuns is sitting comfortably at 7,980 votes, equaling 53.2 per cent. Runner-up Marisa Sterling of the Liberals is sitting at 4,738 votes, or 31.6 per. At this time, 103 of 196 polls have reported.
