PC candidate Gaudet losing in Pickering-Scarborough East

Kevin Gaudet may not have taken Pickering-Scarborough East, but he is still optimistic about a Progressive Conservative presence in the province.

“Change may not have come to [this riding] but it’s coming to Ontario,” he said.

With about 90 per cent of the polls reporting, Liberal Tracy MacCharles has been declared winner by media outlets.

Gaudet’s campaign managers and supporters say they had been expecting the Liberals to keep the Pickering-Scarborough East riding but were hoping for a change.

Brian, a supporter who declined to give his last name, said that as a Progressive Conservative he thinks the loss is “pretty pathetic.”

“The thing I can’t understand about [the Conservatives],” he said, “is that they are not sending the correct message to voters.”

Brian, who has been a PC supporter for 20 years, said the party needs to do a better job and be accountable to their voters.
