Police say sexual assault in Scarborough case may involve more victims

Police arrested a man on Feb. 20 in connection with the sexual assault of a woman in an apartment.

On Feb. 19, police responded to a call at 8 p.m. for a sexual assault call in the Broadview and Cosburn Avenue area.

Police say a man met the woman in the downtown area and brought her to his apartment after promising her a modeling job.

It is alleged that after entering the apartment, the man did not allow the woman to leave and sexually assaulted her.

Errol Spooner of Toronto, 33, is charged with aggravated sexual assault, forcible confinement and carrying a concealed weapon.

He was scheduled to appear at College Park court on Feb 21 at 10 a.m. in room 507.

Police believe there may be more victims, and ask anyone with information to call 416−808−5400, or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 416−222−TIPS.
