Day after the storm: TTC struggles with delays

Bloor-Danforth subway line grinds to halt Tuesday mid afternoon

The TTC's Broadview station was packed with commuters Tuesday afternoon.

Trains along the eastern half of the Toronto Transit Commission’s (TTC) Bloor and Danforth line ground to a halt Tuesday afternoon between Victoria Park and Broadview stations.

“The TTC is currently investigating the matter. We cannot say if the delay is related to the weather but that is part of the investigation,” said Jessica Martin, a TTC spokesperson.

Riders caught in the shut down, which occurred around the noon hour, were advised that it would take up to 20 minutes to organize shuttle buses to ferry them between Victoria Park and Broadview stations, along Danforth Avenue.

TTC was struggling to manage nine disruptions to bus routes and subway lines as of mid-afternoon Tuesday.

Martin recommended that commuters who wanted an alternative route to pick up ride guides that are free and can be found at collector booths in all subway stations.
