Coun. Glenn De Baeremaeker’s annual Valentine skating party held at Centennial East Recreation Centre brought out many Scarborough residents.
People began lining up an hour before the 2:30 p.m. event. MP Olivia Chow, of Trinity-Spadina riding, joined De Baeremaeker in welcoming guests.
There was free hot chocolate, crafts and many prizes to be won. Residents had the opportunity to speak and take pictures with De Baeremaeker and Chow. Parents, kids and neighbours participated in crafts, skating and games.
“It is a way in our very busy world, our very big world where sometimes people aren’t connected to help make some connections and have fun at the same time,” De Baeremaeker said.
