Who doesn’t love popcorn?
No one, the Boys and Girls Club of East Scarborough hopes.
The group has brought back its fundraiser in support of United Way Toronto, selling popcorn to the community for $2 a bag.
The event started on Nov. 2, at their Mom 2 Mom sale. Most of the sales are being done through participants and staff who will be selling to their friends, families and coworkers.
“Last year we sold over 1,000 bags of popcorn,” said Judene Stewart, the club’s resource development and communications coordinator. “We are hoping to surpass (the number) of what we did last year.”
Six flavours of popcorn are offered; white cheddar, dill pickle, salt and vinegar, air caramel, kettle corn and butter salt.
Stewart said white cheddar seems to be their best seller so far.
Each 30-gram bag comes with a buy-one-get-one-free coupon.
The funds raised from the sale help support the 2013 United Way Campaign.
“United Way is a big supporter of the club and it is important for us to be involved in the larger campaign,” Stewart said.
All orders should be in to program staff or reception by Monday, Nov. 18.
