Cops ask for info after driver loses control of car, hits pedestrian

Police are asking the public for information following a crash that sent a pedestrian to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On Nov. 15 at about 3:40 p.m., police responded to a personal injury collision at 2950 Lawrence Ave. E.

An 83-year-old woman, driving a 1999 Toyota Corolla, was trying to turn westbound onto Lawrence Avenue from the driveway of 3000 Lawrence Ave. E. when she lost control of the car and mounted a curb, police say.

She accelerated, hit a concrete post and a pedestrian before a concrete wall stopped the car, police say.

The 64-year-old pedestrian was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 416-808-1900 or contact Crime Stoppers.
