Suspect sought in community centre slaying

Man, 23, wanted for first-degree murder

A warrant has been issued by Toronto police for a 23-year old man suspected of first-degree murder in the shooting of Neeko Mitchel at the North Kipling Community Centre.

Police are seeking 23-year-old Reshane Hayles Wilson of Mississauga.

Police have advised the suspect to turn himself in, according to Det. Sgt. Brian Borg at a press conference on Jan. 23.

“To you Mr. Reshane Hayles Wilson, it is in your best interest to surrender yourself to police after contacting your lawyer first,” Borg said.

“Lookouts locally, nationally and internationally have already been placed and you will not be able to flee very far.  Regardless, however, of where you flee, you will be actively pursued and you will be returned to face criminal justice.”

Police had called the incident on Nov. 24, 2013 a targeted shooting. Mitchel, 25, was said to have been shot execution-style during a basketball tournament held at the Centre that involved two other suspects.
