Distracted driving blitz in effect

Police are launching a one-day "Distracted Driving Enforcement Blitz"

Toronto police are on the lookout for drivers who text, talk, type, email or dial using hand-held devices.

Traffic Services is launching a Distracted Driving Enforcement Blitz on March 18 in conjunction with the distracted driving fine increase, recently announced by the federal government.

Officers will be patrolling roads and highways in both marked and undercover vehicles, police say.

Fines for distracted driving can now be as high as $280.
