VIDEO: Fresh food for low income Toronto families

Second year of city project to bring fresh. cheap produce to so-called food deserts in Toronto

A new initiative to offer healthy low-cost produce to families is taking place in parts of Toronto and the Scarborough area.

The Good Food Mobile truck is now in its second year of operation and offering fresh produce to Torontonians facing economic and geographical barriers that keeps them from accessing a local supermarket.

During the summer months the food market is offered outside 90 Mornelle Court from 12:30-1:45. During the winter the market is moved indoors at the same time at 110 Mornelle Court in Scarborough.

As Toronto Observer’s Sam Turchan reports, the food truck initiative is offering cheap and healthy alternatives to fast food.
