Toronto has been named the world’s top city for long-term real estate investment by international property development firm Grosvenor.
Grosvenor, based in the U.K., ranked 50 cities in terms of their resilience. Each city was rated by its vulnerability to adverse events and how they adapt to it.
Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary were the top three cities to invest in for the long term. The report noted that all three Canadian cities have “a strong combination of low vulnerability and high adaptive capacity.”
The Canadian cities beat out every city in the United States, which all ranked low in the vulnerability category.
The five cities ranking as least resilient were Jakarta, Dhaka, Cairo, Manila and Mumbai.
