John Tory is far ahead of his main rivals, Rob Ford and Olivia Chow, according to the latest Forum Research survey.

A new poll conducted by Forum Research shows John Tory with the lead at 40 per cent.

The poll of 1,069 residents was done on Monday night by voice response phone calls. Rob Ford received 28 per cent support and Olivia Chow is at 21 percent.

The previous Forum poll in August showed a closer race between Tory and Ford, with Chow trailing.

Chow has now dropped 19 per cent since the Forum poll in June.

She  is weakest in Scarborough, with only nine percent support there, according to Forum.

Tory and Ford are in favour of replacing the Scarborough RT with a subway, while Chow prefers the less expensive alternative of LRT.
