“F***ed Up” vocalist set to moderate Toronto mayoral debate

The debate will cover the role of arts and culture in Toronto

If you haven’t had the opportunity yet, but want to hear the mayoral candidates speak, then mark down Sept. 29 on your calendars. Torontonians can look forward to what is sure to be yet another exciting mayoral debate.

The event will be hosted at the TIFF Bell Lightbox Theater, and moderated by Damian Abraham, lead singer of Toronto hardcore band F***ed Up.

Abraham is known for his energetic live performances as the frontman of the award-winning band, which often features him headbutting objects until his forehead bleeds.

He also has a reputation for being smart and articulate. Outside of his career as a musician, Abraham hosted The Wedge on MuchMusic, and contributed to a Vice documentary series on the medical marijuana industry.

The debate is hosted by ArtsVote, a Toronto organization dedicated to advocating for art and culture in municipal politics. The debate will focus on the role of arts and culture in Toronto.

So far, Olivia Chow, John Tory, Ari Goldkin and Morgan Baskin have confirmed their attendance. Doug Ford has been invited, but hasn’t yet confirmed.
