Men arrested for possession of marijuana-laced brownies

Suspects purportedly planning to sell brownies to neighbourhood youth

Two men were arrested in East York on Wednesday, for possessing eight pounds of marijuana-infused brownies. According to police, the men were planning to sell the brownies to youth near Parma Court and Wakunda Place.

Waleed Mohamed and Moshan Afzal, both 18, have been charged with possession and possession for trafficking.

Police say students should be reminded that narcotics-laced food is prevalent and parents should be aware of their potential danger.

According to StatsCan, marijuana-related arrests have been rising in Canada during the last decade, although overall crime is down.
