Cocaine bust at Pearson International Airport

14 kg of suspected cocaine were seized from a flight from Trinidad and Tobago to Toronto

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) released a statement today announcing a seizure of 14kg of a substance, suspected to be cocaine, at Toronto Perason International Airport.

The investigation took place on Sept. 25 after officers officers noticed “anomalies with one of the bags” that arrived on a flight from Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

Upon further inspection, they discovered 12 bricks concealed under clothing containing a substance that tested positive for suspected cocaine.

The packages were turned over to Peel Regional Police.

In 2013, the CBSA in the Greater Toronto Area made 201 cocaine seizures totaling over 508 kg.

The investigation is ongoing and no word has been given on any arrests or charges in connection with the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call the CBSA Border Watch toll‑free line at 1-888-502-9060.
