‘Turn yourself in,’ police tell second murder suspect

Sought after another suspect charged for Noble Park stabbing

Toronto police are calling on a second suspect in the stabbing death in Noble Park to turn himself in.

“My message to Tommy Ngo is to do the right thing,” homicide Det. Leslie Dunkley told a press conference on Friday. “Get a lawyer and turn yourself in to police. This is not going to go away and we will not stop looking for you.”

Russell Sahadeo, 23, was stabbed during a heated argument in the park on Sept. 6 just after midnight, police said.

Three days later, Marcus Richard Lee, 21, turned himself in to police and was charged with second degree murder.

Police have identified the second suspect they are seeking as Ton Quoc Hoang Ngo, 20, who is also known as Tommy Ngo, of Toronto. He is wanted on a charge of second-degree murder.

Dunkley said Sahadeo was in the park with four friends when two men approached him. The men returned to the park about five minutes later and allegedly stabbed Sahadeo. Both men are thought not to have known the victim.

Police arrived at Noble Park in the Jane Street and Scarlett Road area on Sept. 6 around 12:20 a.m. after several 911 calls. Witnesses tried to help Sahadeo until he was transported to hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Police say they still don’t have a motive.

Sahadeo’s uncle represented the family at the police conference because the parents are “grief stricken,” he said.

“There is nothing that can heal the profound grief that the family is currently experiencing,” the uncle said.

Sahadeo was enrolled in college, about to start his first year in business administration and was a typical 23-year-old man, according to his uncle.
