International fugitive arrested for child abduction

The Toronto Police Fugitive Squad arrested an international fugitive on Sept. 22.

Police allege a woman and her young son fled Norway and came to Canada under a false name and passport on June 20. An extradition warrant was executed after she and the boy were located in the Queen Street and Logan Avenue area. Toronto Police had been collaborating with the RCMP and Interpol Oslo in their investigation.

Ashwaque Nouradin Salah, 34, has been charged with unlawful abduction. She is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 23.
