From Nov. 12 to 15 Torontonians had a little taste of Iceland.
“It was amazing to experience a new culture,” said mechanic Chuck Weisner. “I was a little out of my depth but that’s what made it so great.”
The event allowed many to get their first experience with Icelandic culture, with the restaurant Luma on King Street West offering Icelandic dishes and Adelaide Hall on Adelaide Street hosting Icelandic bands Samaris and Airplane and Spaceship.

“The music was great, I’m definitely going to have to take a deeper look into Iceland’s music,” engineer Eric Hardie said.
The Royal Cinema was host to a screening of Icelandic shorts and documentaries.

To Icelandic immigrant Norman Edan the event offered a chance to reminisce about home.
“It was so nice to be able to catch a glimpse of home,” Said Edan. “I’ll admit to being a little homesick before but this has cured me for at least a little while.”
