Among the list is the revamped ice rink at Greenwood Park, originally built in 2013 as Toronto’s first covered outdoor artificial ice rink. “The rink keeps everybody active in wintertime and brings the community together,” said Katie Dinsdale, a local resident and mother of a young boy playing shinny at the rink.

“It’s super important. Since he was a little tyke it’s been a central part of his life. Being here at the rink keeps him motivated to get better at his skating and playing hockey. He loves it.”

The Greenwood rink is scheduled to be stay open until March 20 of 2016.
