A Toronto school safety monitor has been charged for allegedly sexually assaulting a student.
Toronto police say that on Jan. 8, a man allegedly led a 17-year-old girl to a remote area in Weston Collegiate school where he sexually assaulted her.
Toronto District School Board said in a letter addressed to parents that the accused hasn’t been at the school since the allegations were made.
“Laying criminal charges does not constitute guilt…. We also do not take these allegations lightly,” the board said.
Clinton Russell, 42, appeared in court Saturday and was charged with sexual assault and exploitation.
Police say they believe that there may be other victims.
