Six minors, as young as 12, arrested in raid on northeast Toronto home

Police executed a search warrant on Tuesday at a residence near Victoria Park Avenue and Finch Avenue East and arrested nine people, age 12 to 39, on firearm charges.

The nine arrested face a total of 111 charges related to the possession of firearms, police say.

Six of the arrested are minors, including a 12-year-old girl who faces 11 charges and a 16-year-old girl charged with 22 counts.

Police located and recovered a JR Carbine Multi Calibre, .45-calibre Machine Pistol, a AB Arms ASR, 9mm Machine Pistol with ammunition drum, 55 units of .45-calibre ammunition, and 33 units of 9mm ammunition.

One 17-year-old boy faces 14 charges, including two counts of failing to comply with probation.

Another 17-year-old boy was charged with 11 counts.

Two 16-year-old boys face 11 charges each, including possession of a weapon and careless storage of a firearm.

Police cannot name the minors involved due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.  Police did identify that all of the minors are from Toronto.

Abdullahi Hassan, 18 and Nicole Brand, 24, both from Toronto each face 11 firearm charges.

The 39-year-old woman facing charges was not identified by name. She faces 11 counts, including possession of property obtained by crime.

The nine appeared in court Wednesday morning. The 16-year-old girl and two 17-year-old boys at 1191 Eglinton Ave. E. and the remaining six at College Park.
