The Canadian opera group, the Tenors, will be looking to get back in Canada’s good books when they sing the Canadian national anthem this Sunday at the 104th Grey Cup game in Toronto.
The announcement comes on the same day that the group decided to part ways with member, Remigio Pereira.
Pereira made the news earlier this year when he decided to go rogue while performing the Canadian national anthem during Major League Baseball’s All-Star game.
He changed the lyrics to the anthem without his partners knowing.
Pereira sang, “We’re all brothers and sisters. All lives matter to the great.” in place of the words “With glowing hearts we see thee rise. The True North strong and free.”
In a statement today, the Tenors address the incident:
“Our group has always aspired to be a unified voice while bringing inspiration, peace, joy and love to our audience, but that day we were pulled into a complicated and polarizing conversation — without our knowledge or consent — on what we feel was an inappropriate platform.”

The statement also says the group has decided to part ways with Pereira and it will continue as a trio.
The Tenors are set to join artists One Republic and Alessia Cara as part of the Grey Cup celebrations.
The Calgary Stampeders will take on the Ottawa Redblacks on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
