Boy arrested last week but little information released

After a stabbing at Coxwell Avenue and Plains Road last Wednesday,  Toronto police have confirmed only minimal information.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged following the stabbing.

According to police, there is no clear motive for the East York stabbing.

A man, 20, and a boy were involved in an altercation before the stabbing, says Const. Caroline de Kloet.

The Toronto boy was arrested and charged just hours after the stabbing of the man.

He was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace and carrying a concealed weapon.

The boy is to appear in court on Thursday.

According to police, the boy stabbed a man with a knife and the man was rushed to the hospital.

The ruling in the court is unknown to police.

The injuries the man sustained are unknown.

The man’s name has not been released by police.

It is unknown exactly where the stabbing took place at the intersection.
