Four arrests for series of robberies in Yonge and Finch area

Toronto Police arrested four boys for a string of robberies over the weekend in near Yonge Street and Finch Avenue.

A 17-year-old male was arrested after police responded to a robbery call on Friday evening near Northtown Way. Three other males fled the scene, police say.

Two 17-year-old males and one 12-year-old boy were arrested Sunday evening.

Two search warrants were executed later that evening and another person was arrested but later released with conditions.

Two others robberies had taken place Saturday but the culprits had fled the scene before police arrived.

Police are continuing to investigate whether the suspects are connected to any other robberies, Det. David Zajac said.

“There are others and we are reviewing those and contacting the victims,” he said.

Two of the 17-year-olds have been charged with three counts of robbery. The third was charged with three counts of robbery and failure to comply with recognizance.

The 12-year-old was charged with one count of robbery and possession.

All four were scheduled to appear in court on Monday. Their names cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
