Police are still on the hunt for the shooter after a man was killed last month in the Thorncliffe Park area.

Police identified the victim as Shoaib Asakzai, 25,  of Toronto in the shooting on Feb. 25.

Asakzai was shot multiple times at 71 Thorncliffe Park Drive near Overlea Boulevard around 6:20 p.m.

Asakzai was found in the back parking lot of the high-rise. He was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead two hours later, police said.

Police presence in the area has been increased ever since the shooting has occurred, local residents said.

Asakzai was raised in Thorncliffe and often visited the area since moving to Scarborough for some years now, a resident said.

According to media reports, Shoaib Asakzai and his friend had been arrested in July 2011 after a violent altercation at East York Mall that left three people wounded. As a result Asakzia, who was 20 then, was charged with pointing a firearm and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
