Dozens of floats, ecstatic marching bands and delicious treats start off the Easter celebrations in the Beaches each year.
The parade reaches it’s 50th anniversary on April 16, marching along Queen Street East and ending at Woodbine Avenue.
Not only kids, but adults in the area are excited in anticipation.

Mother and East York native Maria Dosuza said she has set aside the day to make sure she attends the celebration.
“I think I am more excited than my children,” Dosuza laughed as she put on her bunny hat.
The parade runs more than two hour.
It began in 1967 along the beach boardwalk, but as it grew it moved from the beach to Queen Street.
“As a child I remember dragging my mother to the parade every year,” Dosuza said. “And I just want to continue the history and excitement with my kids.”
The Easter parade has become an East York staple bringing people from different ends of the city and the GTA itself.
Centennial College student Yvano Antonio said this will be his second year attending the parade.
“For a photographer, the parade is great. It creates many different emotions, making great shots for my photography,”Antonio said.
Travelling from Scarborough, Yvano said he recognizes the importance of thr parade — not only for the kids but each generation that grow up with it.
“It’s great to see every kind of people from old to young attending the parade,” Antonio said.”Its actually quite heart-warming to know that the community comes together for it.”
