Toronto police confirmed Thursday that they have identified the remains of Andrew Kinsman, one of the victims of an alleged serial killer. Det.-Sgt. “We identified some of the body parts from those planters from here as belonging to Andrew Kinsman,” Idsinga said.

Kinsman has been missing since June 26, 2017. His friends and family have been unwavering in their efforts to find him.

“We have found him, but will always be missing him,” the latest message read on the group’s website Thursday afternoon.

Idsinga also added that the remains of at least six people have now been found in planters on the property, but no other identifications have been released. Other planters seized from other locations in the city are still being investigated.

Excavation of the Mallory Cres. property is expected to start within the next day. Investigators have been warming the soil in the backyard for days, in preparation for the digging. A police command post, a van belonging to the Forensic Identification Services, and an area field command vehicle were parked along Mallory Cres. while groups of police walked in and out of the home.

“We are going start digging up in the backyard and that will probably be ongoing for a week or two,” Idsinga said.

Police have finished examining the interior of the residence, and said the homeowners will be able to return shortly.
