Trampoline teammates bound for London Olympics

Rosannagh MacLennan remembers when she was 10 years old watching Olympian Karen Cockburn train at Skyriders Trampoline Club. At the time, MacLennan said she was too nervous to go and speak with her role model. Now 23, MacLennan trains with the three-time Olympic medalist as they both prepare for the upcoming Summer Olympics in London.

U of T TAs to remain on the job as tentative deal reached

A strike by University of Toronto teaching assistants has been avoided for now. After an eight-month-long negotiation battle, a tentative agreement between U of T and Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) local 3902 is now up for a ratification vote by TAs.

Though it happened way back in season six of the show, I can’t help but remember the Stonecutters’ “We do” chant. TTC chief general manager ‘shut down’ and ‘tossed out’

Gary Webster disagreed with the mayor and now he’s out of a job because of it, Councillor Janet Davis says. The Toronto Transit Commission today voted 5-4 to terminate Webster — its chief general manager and a 36-year veteran of the TTC — because, she said, he would not side with Mayor Rob Ford on his transit plan.
