A group of young girls sits in a classroom at the Story Arts Centre in East York. The rooom is buzzing with excitement even before the day begins. The girls, aged 9-14, have joined a symposium exploring career options and future career paths including: journalism, broadcasting, animation and arts. All of the participants rotated through workshops, centred on the arts.
“At Centennial, we have about seven different policies and procedures that cover off a range of things, from sexual harassment to actual sexual assault,” President Ann Buller said. “We’ve been using them for many, many years.”
Ceremonial shovels struck dirt marking the official beginning of construction at Centennial College’s Ashtonbee campus, in Scarborough. The process officiall began April 2012, with backhoes and dump trucks all over the site.
