The City of Toronto should get ready to say goodbye to yet another two hotel landmarks— although their proposed replacement buildings are very different.

North York honours local citizen
North York will honour a longtime resident and community booster, renaming a boccie park after him. North York Community Council met Tuesday morning at 9:30. In addition to addressing bylaws and proposals, the 11 councillors present decided to recognize a member of the community. Coun. Maria Augimeri (Ward 9), who chaired the meeting, moved that Ridge Park, a small park along Ridge Road, be renamed Luigi Boni Boccie Courts.
North York community council debates traffic-calming
“This is a high-density area,” said councillor James Pasternak. “There is a very high young student population in this neighborhood. After talking with residents, this would help slow down drivers, and reduce the risk of accidents.”
