2011-12 NHL Preview: Northwest Division

After a disappointing Game 7 loss to the Boston Bruins in last year’s cup final, the organization went in to the off-season with the ‘if it ain’t broke, why fix it’ mentality. They lost Ehrhoff to the Buffalo Sabres via free agency, but look to youngster Chris Tanev to step in on the blue line. Vancouver will need to overcome injuries to forwards Ryan Kesler (hip), Mason Raymond (back) and Mikael Samuelsson (abdominals) to start the season, but with their depth they should be able to cope.

Stanley Cup Game 7 a winner for Danforth pub

A long 82-game season and two intense months of playoff hockey came down to just one game for the right to hoist hockey’s Holy Grail, a right claimed by the Boston Bruins. At bars across Toronto last night, the beer flowed and servers were kept busy as fans of the Vancouver Canucks and the Bruins lifted mugs of a different sort.
