Man arrested on gun and assault charges

A man was arrested for assault with intent to resist arrest as well as various firearms and drug charges. The accused refused to get on an elevator at an apartment building at 4062 Lawrence Ave. E. on Feb. 9, when the two uniformed officers’ noticed a weapon and informed him he was arrested. He then attempted to remove one of the officers’weapons. Courtney Adams, 19, appeared in court the same day.

Missing woman found after five days
A missing Scarborough woman has been located after she went missing for 5 days after being dropped off at the Eglinton subway station on Feb. 3. Angela Evangelia Forbes, 45 was located on Feb. 7 after a joint effort between 45 and 43 Division. Her family became concerned when she didn’t return home as she is required to take medication daily.

Man charged with impaired driving
A man has been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm after an accident on Feb. 18 near the Markham Road and Painted Post Road area. According to police‚the two-vehicle accident caused by Piratheepan Tharmakulasingam, 25, was said to be “partially head on” and sent a 68-year-old man to hospital.
