Calling all party animals
Celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Toronto Zoo on Dec. 31 from 6 to 9 p.m. The evening will be filled with music and entertainment. A few of the guests include some of the Zoo’s animals and the kids have their very own countdown! Purchase your tickets online at www.torontozoo.com/NewYears2008.asp.

A meet and greet with Santa Claus
The Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto will host a children’s Christmas party on Dec. 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the multi-purpose hall. The free get-together, for children under 12, will have Christmas carols, games and of course photo time with Santa Claus. 416-292-9293 ext. 232.

When the weather outside is frightful…
Watch holiday movies at the Malvern Public Library, 30 Sewells Rd., on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31, starting at 10 a.m. It’s free and open to the public. Why stay home when you can spend time with family and friends at the community library this holiday break.

Mrs. Claus is cooking breakfast
Children are invited to join Santa Claus for a McDonald’s breakfast at Malvern Town Centre, 31 Tapscott Rd., from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Dec. 13. The food will be served in the centre court. This event is free but adults need to call 416-297-4786 to register their kids’ names before arrival.
