Scarborough residences targeted in early morning raids

Published on

Nearly 100 people are in custody after a series of raids throughout the Greater Toronto Area beginning around 5 a.m. on Wednesday morning involving guns and gangs investigations.

“It’s a multi-jurisdictional series of search warrants that have been executed throughout the GTA,” Const. Wendy Drummond said. “The investigation has been led by our Guns and Gangs Task Force.”

Drummond also said a majority of the warrants were issued in the Scarborough area, particularly at a four-apartment complex at Markham Rd. and Eglinton Ave.

Police are expected to release more details on this ongoing operation at a press conference later this afternoon.
