Blue Jays open 2010 in Texas

The Toronto Blue Jays will open their season with a six-game road trip in 2010 before coming home to host the Chicago White Sox on Mon., April 12.

Texas will be the first opponent for a three-game set beginning April 5, before the Jays head to Baltimore to play the Orioles over the season’s opening weekend.

Toronto’s series against the White Sox will mark the fourth occasion in franchise history in which the Jays will start their home schedule against Chicago, beginning with their inaugural game on April 7, 1977.

It will be the New York Yankees who close out Toronto’s home schedule on Sept. 29, with the regular season itself ending for the Jays on Oct. 3 in Minnesota.
