East-end rooftop drama unfolds

A man was seen walking and jumping along the rooftops of townhouses in the Sheppard Road and Rouge River Drive area before noon Thursday.

According to residents, the man – believed to be in his 30s – had threatened to burn his house two weeks ago.

Police and paramedic vehicles remained at the Red Fox Place scene into the evening.

Chris Cruz has lived in the neighbourhood for six months.

“I thought this area was pretty safe compared to where I used to live, but the fact that this happens here goes to show crazy things can happen just about anywhere,” Cruz said. “Personally I think he’s just begging for attention.”
