Armed robbery accused faces 55 additional charges

An alleged crack cocaine addict is facing 55 charges of theft, which police say were committed to supply his habit.

On Jan. 19, a 30-year-old man was arrested for the armed robbery of an Eglinton Avenue convenience store. Further investigation led to the additional 55 charges being laid.

The charges relate to automobiles being broken into and property being stolen, police said.

The 55 charges are all theft under $5,000.  None of the stolen property has been recovered, police said.
