North Americans dominated the top four spots at the women’s moguls qualifying round on Saturday at Cypress Mountain in Vancouver.
All three Canadian competitors advanced to the medal round. Jennifer Heil lead the way in second place, Kristi Richards qualified in fourth place and 19-year-old Chloe Dufour-Lapointe placed ninth.
Americans Hannah Kearney and Heather McPhie placed first and third respectively.
A true Olympic moment occurred when Tereza Vaculikova of the Czech Republic took the only spill of the day but still managed to muster up the courage to pick up her ski and finish her run. This brought the crowd to a roar, who appreciated the effort.
The finals take place at 10:30 p.m. ET.
