Figure skating – ladies short program

Joannie Rochette cried and put her hand to her heart as she finished her skate for the women’s short program just two days after her mother’s sudden death.

“Very nice, warm welcome,” the grieving Olympian said to Skate Canada official Mike Slipchuk. “Hard to handle but I appreciate the support. I will remember this forever.”
