At about 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 17, a man boarded the bus in the area of Brimley Road and Steeles Avenue, according to a police statement.

He then got into a dispute over the fare with the 50-year-old driver.

The man pulled out a knife and stabbed the driver in the leg and hand. His injuries are not life-threatening, police say.

Wei Yang, 40, has been charged with attempted murder, as well as weapon and assault related charges.

He was set to appear in court Sept. 19.
