Man struck by minivan outside hospital

A 49-year-old man was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital’s trauma unit after being hit by minivan outside Scarborough General Hospital yesterday.

He appeared to be disoriented when he was struck in the curb lane near Lawrence Avenue and McCowan Road at around 11 a.m. on Nov. 1, Toronto police said.

The man suffered serious lung and head injuries, police said.

Though it remains unclear if he was a patient at nearby Scarborough General Hospital, a witness said he was wearing a hospital bracelet.
